Device Sale Policy

This Device Sale Policy explains the terms that apply when selling a phone, tablet, smartwatch, computer, or other electronic device to Indycells LLC.

1. Quotes and Final Offers

Any quote provided online, by phone, by message, or verbally is an estimate based on the information provided about the device.

The final offer is determined after Indycells physically inspects the device. The offer may change based on factors including:

  • Device model and storage capacity
  • Physical and screen condition
  • Battery condition
  • Functionality
  • Carrier and network status
  • Financing status
  • IMEI or blacklist status
  • Activation locks
  • Any condition or information that differs from what was originally provided

You are never required to accept an offer.

2. Legal Ownership

You may only sell a device that legally belongs to you or that you have legal authorization from the owner to sell.

Indycells may evaluate devices that are carrier locked, financed, damaged, broken, blacklisted, or have other network restrictions.

A device with a prior lost or stolen report may only be considered when the seller can provide sufficient evidence that they are the lawful owner and have the legal right to sell the device.

Indycells will not knowingly purchase stolen property or a device being sold without the legal owner’s permission.

We may check the device’s IMEI, serial number, carrier status, or other identifying information before completing a transaction.

3. Activation Locks and Accounts

Before completing a sale, all personal accounts and activation locks must be removed when required.

This may include:

  • Apple Find My / Activation Lock
  • Google accounts
  • Samsung accounts
  • Passcodes or screen locks
  • Other device-security features

Indycells may decline to purchase a device if required accounts or security locks cannot be removed.

4. Personal Data

Before selling your device, you are responsible for backing up any information you wish to keep, including photos, contacts, messages, files, and other personal data.

Once the sale is completed, Indycells is not responsible for recovering personal information that remained on the device.

You should remove your personal information and accounts before ownership is transferred.

5. Payment and Completion of Sale

Payment is issued after:

  1. The device has been inspected.
  2. The final offer has been presented.
  3. You have accepted the offer.

Payment methods may include cash or another payment method offered by Indycells at the time of the transaction.

Once the final offer has been accepted and payment has been issued, ownership of the device transfers to Indycells LLC.

The transaction is then considered complete and final.

6. Completed Sales Are Final

After payment has been issued and ownership has transferred to Indycells, the seller may not cancel the transaction, reclaim the device, or require Indycells to sell the device back.

Indycells may immediately resell, recycle, repair, refurbish, dismantle, transfer, or otherwise dispose of a purchased device after ownership has transferred.

7. False Information and Ownership Disputes

The seller is responsible for providing truthful and accurate information about the device and their legal right to sell it.

If a device is later determined to:

  • Belong to another person
  • Have been obtained unlawfully
  • Have been sold using fraudulent information
  • Become subject to a legitimate ownership claim or investigation

Indycells reserves the right to take appropriate action and cooperate with law enforcement or other authorities when required.

Providing false ownership information does not create a legal ownership right to the device.

8. In-Person Transactions

Indycells purchases devices locally and in person in Indianapolis. Indycells does not currently offer mail-in device purchasing or shipping-based buyback transactions.
